It turns out that Madonna is sparing no expenses with her anticipated Billboard Music Awards 2019 performance, which is reportedly costing Madame X a cool $5 million (£3.8 million).

Madonna, 60, will grace the stage at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 1 May where this year’s BBMAs is set to take place.

Previous reports claimed the popstar’s performance will span an exhaustive seven-minutes and is expected to incorporate holograms and snazzy CGI.

Would you expect anything less from the queen of pop?

It seems all the fancy special effects do not come cheap as TMZ reports Madge is coughing up a staggering $5 million to bring her visions to life. It’s not thought that Billboard are contributing financially to the performance costs.

Madonna is really pushing the bar with her grand performance of her new single, Medellin, featuring Maluma and it’s already being billed as ‘one of the most ambitious performances ever attempted on live TV’.

A source recently told The Sun: ‘Obviously, a lot could go wrong.

‘It will require perfect timing and positioning to make sure that she interacts properly with the computer-generated visuals, otherwise it won’t work at all.’

Just to give fans a glimpse into the sheer effort she’s putting in, Madonna revealed she’s been practicing so hard that her feet are hurting but joked that she liked the pain.

In a tweet, Madge said: ‘Madame ❌ Wants her feet to hurt………She knows that pain is beauty!… Madame ❌ Has something special for you!!’

Madonna’s musical return will see the popstar release a brand new album, Madame X, which is set for release on 17 June.

The Billboard Music Awards take place on 1 May, hosted by Kelly Clarkson, while performances are expected from the likes of Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, The Jonas Brothers and BTS with Halsey.
