Madden 20 Free Agents: MUT promo to start soon – Tom Brady master?

The NFL Combine promo hasn’t even dropped its final set of cards, but the community is certainly feeling underwhelmed. Beyond the 97 OVR Deion Sanders master, there aren’t a lot of useful cards in this promo.

Which could mean the next promo will be stacked.

Next in line is Free Agency. A time where teams go wild with spending and players can rake in huge contracts.

Last year saw Earl Thomas and LeVeon Bell as the Free Agents masters. Each got a 98 OVR card that had a team chemistry slot for any team.

So who will it be this year, and when can we expect this promo to drop?

Release date

With NFL free agency starting on 18 March, and the deadline for Franchise Tag decisions on 10 March, we can take an educated guess that the MUT Free Agent promo will go live on 20 March.

There is usually a live stream to drop all the key info the day before, so watch out for confirmation of Masters, sets, and solo challenges on 19 March,

It is tough to pick out a potential Free Agent master as teams can still slap the franchise tag on a player and prevent him from entering the open market.

However, one player we know will be a free agent this year is Tom Brady.

The six-time Super Bowl champion could land anywhere in free agency, making him perfect for that no-team 98 OVR master.

Brady’s highest card right now is a 95 OVR NFL 100 card, so it would make sense to give the GOAT another one.

Free Agent Defensive Master

Who might be the defensive master is much harder to figure out.

There are some amazing players that could hit the open market, but teams are certain to use their franchise tag to keep hold of key stars.

We already know that the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs will retain Chris Jones via the franchise tag, and that the Jaguars will tag Yannick Ngakoue, so that limits our choices.

One player who we were surprised not to see in the Combine promo but could feature here is Jadeveon Clowney. However, the Seahawks have a lot of cap space to tag or re-sign their star edge defender.

If Clowney does stay in Seattle then another option is Everson Griffen. The defensive end was able to void his contract with the Vikings and enter free agency this year.

With a 95 OVR Team of the Year card to his name and some elite pass-rushing skills he would certainly be a welcome addition to most MUT squads.
