Macaulay Culkin poses in Home Alone 2 face mask and the internet goes wild

Actor Macaulay Culkin has recreated the iconic Home Alone 2 movie poster through the creative use of a face mask.

Taking to social media on Wednesday, Culkin encouraged his followers to wear face coverings, sharing a photo of himself in a very recognisable pose.

The face mask illustrates the classic Home Alone: Lost In New York poster, in which a young Culkin is gasping and holding his face in his hands.

Culkin, 40, shared the image on Instagram, urging his followers to wear PPE.

“Just staying Covid-safe wearing the flayed skin of my younger self,” he joked.

“Don’t forget to wear your masks, kids.”

A number of famous faces applauded Culkin’s hilarious use of the mask, with actress Natalie Portman writing: “so good mack”.

Culkin’s girlfriend and fellow actor Brenda Song wrote: “Whoever thought to put the LEGO Empire State Building in the back is a genius! Lol. Hehehe.”

Macaulay is best known for his role in the 1990 Christmas film Home Alone and its 1992 sequel, in which he played precocious pre-teen, Kevin McCallister.

After a break from acting, Culkin will be returning to screens soon with a role in the upcoming 10th season of American Horror Story. He will star alongside series veterans Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Evan Peters.

Culkin also recently appeared in Seth Green’s 2019 film Changeland and the Hulu series Dollface.
