Mac Miller’s father has reacted to the arrest of his son’s alleged drug dealer, saying it brings him “comfort” a year after the rapper’s death.
Mark McCormick attended an event commemorating his son on Friday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, of which Miller was a native.
McCormick can be heard in a video recorded by one of the attendees: “So they finally caught the motherf***** that sold him the drugs.
“And we find some comfort in that.”
Cameron James Pettit was arrested last week on charges that he allegedly sold counterfeit opioid pills to Miller two days before the rapper died of an overdose.

A Drug Enforcement Agency affidavit unsealed after Pettit’s arrest alleges that Miller asked him for oxycodone and other drugs, but that on 5 September, 2018, Pettit gave Miller counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with the powerful opioid fentanyl.
Miller was found dead by his assistant at his San Fernando Valley home on 7 September, 2018. He was 26 years old. An autopsy found that he had died from an accidental overdose, via a combination of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol.
Pettit has only been charged with providing the drugs, however, and not with having a direct role in Miller’s death.
The rapper’s father gave Miller’s fans a stern warning about drugs during the event commemorating his son, urging those in attendance to stay safe.
“Many of us [when we were young], including me, experimented with drugs,” he said.
“But it’s a different f****** world out there. … Drugs are being laced with fentanyl, all kinds of drugs.
“And the one thing I would say to you is don’t take the risk. It’s just not worth it.”
