Lyon boss Rudi Garcia says he would not stand in the way of Memphis Depay leaving the club amid speculation that Barcelona want the striker to replace Luis Suarez.

Suarez has reportedly been made to train on his own as he nears the exit door at Camp Nou.

The Uruguayan is said to have already agreed personal terms with Juventus, however, he still has a year left on his contract and would need to come to an agreement with Barca to terminate his deal.

Former Manchester United forward Depay – who struggled during his two-and-a-half-year stint in the Premier League – is one of the names has been touted as Suarez’s replacement.

The 26-year-old has rediscovered his best form in Ligue 1 and after fighting back from a serious knee injury, helped fire his side to the Champions League semi-finals last season.

Garcia admits that while he hopes Depay stays, he wouldn’t stand in the way of any of his star players leaving to join one of Europe’s elite clubs.

‘Memphis is a top player, he is a fantastic player who is returning following an ACL operation,’ the French boss told TF1.

‘If he can do the season with us, we will be stronger for it.

‘Aside from that, for a lot of my great players, if they have the option to join a club that is built to win the Champions League, and we came up against a few of them in the Champions League this year, I will personally take them there in my car.

‘Nobody is gone yet, with COVID, we don’t know if there will be offers like there are in each season.’
