Lucy Verasamy: ITV weather presenter shocks as she shares startling climate change image

Lucy Verasamy, 39, regularly informs ITV viewers of the latest weather conditions during her forecasts.

But on her Instagram yesterday, the star also had some more important news to share as she revealed she was attending a course on climate change.

Lucy first uploaded a picture of rain pattering down on a window, and wrote: “It doesn’t rain – it pours.

“Warmer climate = wetter.”

The ITV favourite then posted a photo from a course which showed how much the planet has warmed up over the years.

The first picture, titled Summer 1976, showed just a few patches of scorching red, meaning hot weather, with the colour blue covering the planet.

But on the next one, from Summer 2016, there were barely any blue spots, with red hugely dominating.

Lucy tagged the location as “ITV News” and said: “Our climate change course @itvweather via Royal Meteorological Society @rmets_.”

Sticking with her global warming theme, Lucy then posted a picture of two signs stuck on a newsagents window which detailed how people could help slow down global warming.

One of the posters read “Save The Earth,” and said people should stop littering, use metal straws and recycle more.

While the other stated: “Lets change this now!!” and went on to say: “Listen up people! Animals, humans and more are going to die if we don’t do anything about this.”

It then listed ways people can help, which included: “Fill up planes and private jets, drive less (walk more), do more exercise (running), recycle more, if you see any litter then pick it up, use less plastic, all these plastic’s we’re using are killing animals and our earth!”

It ended: “Let’s do something about this now!”

On Twitter, Lucy shared the snap along with the caption: “Taped up on wall on a London newsagents.”

One person replied: “That’s what I call the truth.”

Another wrote: “I just hope that this young generation has a planet left when they are adults.”

A third said: “Adults could learn so much from better educated well informed kids.”

Elsewhere, Lucy recently revealed she doesn’t have a car herself, as she revealed how she stays in shape.

Lucy spoke about her healthy lifestyle in a rare interview with The Sports Edit, in which she stated: “I don’t have a car.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
