Lucifer season 5 spoilers: Tom Ellis teases huge shake-up for final series

Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) showed a bit of his lighter side in season four, as he began the first episode of the season with a musical.

Opting for jazz versions of some pop songs, Lucifer sang and danced throughout LUX to get viewers’ hearts racing as the show began.

Although the sequence certainly looked like a one-off for the devil, Lucifer star Tom recently spoke out at the Lucifer Convention about the possibility of more musical scenes.

And it looks like he may not be the only character busting a move in the episodes, as Tom teased a huge amount of content could be on the way for to fans.

According to Jimheath.tv, Tom first teased the possibility of a Lucifer album.

However he quickly quashed those thoughts, saying it would face “several legalities”.

But he went on to hint at a shake-up next series: “There is quite likely to be some more material to put on there after this season.”

Tom also teased the arrival of some other character songs, saying: “It might not just be Lucifer’s songs, because we may have some other characters singing.”

Almost any of the characters from Lucifer are likely to begin singing in the show, but perhaps the most likely is Chloe Decker star Lauren German.

Lauren is the show’s second-in-command, and would absolutely benefit from holding her own as a singer in the show.

Later in the convention Tom Ellis spoke about one of the more controversial lines he has said in the show.

During an episode in season two, Lucifer was being asked a number of questions by his therapist Linda (Rachael Harris).

The line of questioning eventually lead to her inquiring: “How did you actually torture Hitler in Hell?

“I mean, is his cell next to Idi Amin’s? Or Mussolini’s? Or is there kind of a tyrant wing in Hell?”

To which Lucifer responded: “So, we can, you know, talk about Caligula, Stalin.

“Trump – I mean, I know he’s not dead, but he’s definitely going.”

On this scene Tom announced at the convention: “Suggesting that Donald Trump isn’t dead yet – but he’s definitely going to Hell – I threw that in thinking no one’s going to let this on FOX, and it made it!”

He added: “It’s moments like that, lines that have been improvised and they make it on to screen, that’s when I feel a real sense of achievement.”

Tom later praised the fans for saving the show, and told them he wasn’t even sure if the show was well liked before it was cancelled.

Lucifer season four is available to watch on Netflix.
