Lucifer season 5 spoilers: Devil to cross paths with REAL arch nemesis in downfall twist?

The Devil has spent four seasons bumping into a host of different angels who all have different agendas.

But in the fifth and final series of the Netflix hit, Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) may be confronted with an old enemy from his time in heaven.

Although the series differs from the comics considerably, a number of the angels that have already turned up in the show are mentioned in the comics.

Michael is one angel in particular that has a large role in the comics and who could be making an appearance in season five.

This angel was told to kick Lucifer out of heaven and his arrival could spell trouble for Lucifer.

Michael is Lucifer Morningstar’s twin brother and he doesn’t see eye-to-eye with the Devil.

Could their differences lead to epic scenes in the final series?

Fans of the show and of the comics have speculated over the arrival of the potentially explosive character.

Reddit user HankMoodyMf said: “I do think we will eventually see Michael, I think they are saving him and Azreal.

“I am really interested in seeing the show’s version of Michael, because instead of Michael being god’s number one angel, here it’s Amendiel.” [sic]

Another fan theorised the twin brothers would likely have “awesome chemistry” if he joined the show.

“I really hope they introduce Michael,” Madacpg22 began.

“He’s Lucifers opposite and THE warrior angel and he and Lucifer could have an awesome chemistry.

“Then throw in a little Amendial. His character could be so bad**s.

“All three characters exist in the comic, so why not have them all in the show?”

Meanwhile, Chloe Decker’s (Lauren German) death could be sealed in the fifth and final season.

Season four’s ending saw Lucifer return to hell while his lover Chloe stayed in Los Angeles.

One Reddit user theorised the lovers could end up together if Chloe was sent to hell.

“I think Chloe dies on earth in a cop shootout and goes to hell for loving Lucifer, but her body gets possessed by Lilith and she meets Lucifer in hell,” I11I1II1I11III1 wrote.

“Lucifer notices Lilith is missing and together they go back to earth to reclaim Chloe’s body and bring Lilith back to Hell, and then either Chloe becomes queen of Hell alongside Lucifer, or they make something up for why she can go back to earth (Maybe with God’s Help?)

“And everything goes back to normal, with Lucifer occasionally having set vacations to earth.”

Lucifer season four is available to watch on Netflix.
