Lucifer season 4 spoilers: Eve’s secret plan for Lucifer revealed in BIG clue you missed?

The trailer for season four of Lucifer dropped earlier this week and showed the Lord of Hell coming face to face with Eve (played by Inbar Lavi).

The pair had a relationship in the past but Lucifer (Tom Ellis) recently killed her son Cain and fans suspect she is back for revenge.

And, fans who have unpicked the trailer believe Eve has been leaving hints for Lucifer teasing his downfall.

Reddit user blanchedevereaux40 commented: “Watching the trailer for the nth time, I just noticed that Eve’s sitting right next to a bowl of green apples the first time she shows up to the club.

“It’s at :50, and I’m pretty sure it’s before she sees Lucifer (she’s holding an Appletini too).

“Does this mean that someone (like Maze???) brought her back on purpose? WTF??!!”

Other fans seemed to agree as they had also noticed apples were a prominent feature in the trailer.

One replied: “There may be something to the apples. They show up multiple times, even just in the trailer.

“What I cannot figure out though, is how on earth Eve is there? In her original body, too (how else would Lucifer have recognised her)?”

A second added: “There was also a green apple when Chloe told Lucifer she wasn’t sure she could accept him.

“The shot cut to the apple as she left. I can’t help thinking it’s significant.”

While many believe the apples are hinting at trouble between Eve and Lucifer, one simply thinks it is a reference to the Original Sin.

They wrote: “I think the Apples are a pretty obvious reference to original sin (Eve eating the apple), so unless this is sarcasm, I don’t get it.”

After the trailer dropped, fans were quick to note they believe Eve is hiding a secret from Lucifer.

And, to add to the suspense for the new season, Maze star Lesley-Ann Brandt teased fans will “die” over the finale.

Speaking to BriefTake, she spilled: “I think that the fans are going to die by the finale.

“I mean the humour is there and it gets a lot cheekier and it gets dark at times, more so than we’ve been allowed to being on a network show before.

“But I’m really excited because it was work which I was very proud of and I am excited for our writers for having included it.

“So I’m excited that they get to finally watch it because you get the full ride of the roller coaster.”

Lucifer season 4 will drop on Netflix on May 8.
