Seemingly killed during a standard robbery, in a shocking twist it’s revealed the murder of Chloe’s father, John Decker (Chris Payne Gilbert), was actually an intentional hit by corrupt prison warden Perry Smith (Alex Fernandez).
Later on, a bonus episode in season three explores what would have happened if Lucifer’s father, God (voiced by Neil Gaiman) had moved the bullet that killed Chloe’s father.
Once Upon A Time isn’t canon to the show, but it appeared at the end of season three as a pleasant ‘What If’ surprise when the series was originally cancelled by Fox.
One fan is convinced events would have transpired much better than they actually fared throughout the show, and took to Reddit to question why Lucifer’s father didn’t decide to intervene in the first place.
