Lucas Torreira is not agitating for a move away from Arsenal this summer, reports say.

AC Milan want to bring Torreira back to Italy after just a season with Arsenal and have already made one offer for the midfielder.

Reports in Italy claim Torreira is desperate to return to Serie A to play under his former Sampdoria coach, Marco Giampaolo.

But the Telegraph claim Torreira is not seeking a switch and is happy in London with Arsenal, branding reports he is struggling to adjust to the English weather as ‘nonsense’.

Milan though are set to push ahead with plans to test Arsenal’s resolve and are planning to lodge another offer.

Giampaolo has identified Torreira as his top target this summer, but Arsenal are unlikely to entertain any offer that doesn’t significantly improve on the £25million figure they forked out for the Uruguayan last year.

Unai Emery is facing a difficult summer with a transfer budget of just £45m at his disposal.

The Spaniard is planning to offload players to raise further funds and a big offer for Torreira might convince Arsenal to sell and reinvest the money in new signings.

But Torreira was one of Emery’s first signings at the Emirates and the 23-year-old was an immediate hit with Arsenal fans.

Torreira is currently on international duty with Uruguay’s at the Copa America and is due to return late to pre-season after taking part in the tournament.
