We’ve probably all been wondering how Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Arabella Chi even met and unsurprisingly, it was via Instagram.
The Love Island star – who is now a contestant on X Factor: Celebrity – did what any of us would do and slid into her DMs with a cheesy gif.
Speaking on Mel B’s podcast, the 21-year-old said: ‘I was with Josh and we were just flinging out DMs for fun. There’s a GIF where Will Smith just slides into the kitchen and so we were like “how many people do you think we’ll get a reply from this?”
‘I did want to get Arabella to reply, that was the focus.’
Arabella, who briefly dated Danny Williams, was severely unimpressed at his gif of choice and left him on read.
We would have done the same, Arabella.
Wes revealed that when the two finally met she had told him: ‘I did fancy you – but the way you slid in was absolutely terrible.’
Meanwhile, the star recently made a dig at his ex-girlfriend Megan Barton-Hanson.
Earlier in the month, the former Islander made his feelings towards his ex on Instagram.
When one fan commented: ‘Megan punching the wall,’ underneath a photo of him and Arabella, he responded with a load of laughing face emojis.
Things didn’t end too well then?
Wes recently impressed fans when he appeared rapping on the celebrity version of X Factor in his group with Zara McDermott, Samira Mighty and Eyal Booker.
However, he had a huge issue with the band name, The Islanders.
‘It’s a touchy subject. I’m not saying “The Islanders”. I’ll look like a f***ing idiot,’ he told Heat magazine.
‘I’m not a diva. I still don’t consider myself a celebrity, I hate saying that word. We just want to be known for something other than dating.’
Fair enough, Wes.
So far, he’s got dating, rapping and ice skating on his CV, so he hasn’t got far to go.
