Love Island's Olivia and Alex say lockdown has stopped them wanting kids

Love Island 2016 runner ups Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen have ruled out having children any time soon.

The couple, who got married in 2018, had planned to start a family but, like for a lot of people, lockdown turned things upside down.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Online, Olivia, 26, said they don’t want to have children when their family can’t visit because of lockdown.

She explained: “We were both speaking about kids and we said we don’t want to have a kid during lockdown because of family not being able to come over.

“It does make you think about how things could have gone different.

“I was meant to be in New York filming a show and that didn’t happen.

“It could have been so, so different to what it was.”

“One day, it’ll happen eventually!” she added.

The couple have spent lockdown together in their palatial home in Essex, which they have been rennovating.

Despite spending all that time together, the pair say they didn’t row because they’re used to working together all the time.

Alex told us: “We spend pretty much most of my time together anyway, the shoots that we do, unless it’s like for a men’s clothing brand or women’s that’s the only time we work away from each other, really.

“The shoots we do, mostly we work from home on the clothing brand that we do together, so not much has changed.”

Olivia added: “We’re in each other’s pockets quite a lot! We do bicker, like any normal couple we bicker about who does the washing, who’s left plates on the side, who’s not changed the bed. Mainly Alex!”

The pair have been growing close during lockdown

Before the second national lockdown, Olivia and Alex visited Superdrug’s newest concept store in Glasgow, Silverburn.

She said: “I didn’t know they did this many treatments in store. I was like, we need to get one near us! I want one in Lakeside.

“It’s so nice. You can go to Superdrug and do your daily shop, get your bits and pieces, get a meal and then go and get your nails done. It’s the perfect day out!”
