Love Island’s Molly-Mae opens up about gym battle after being fat-shamed by cruel trolls

FORMER Love Island winner Molly-Mae has revealed she’s struggling to get back into her fitness regime this year.

The 20-year-old reality TV star took to Instagram last night to film herself in the gym with beau Tommy Fury, but revealed she was too scared to do anything without her personal trainer present.

In a series of clips on her Instagram story, Molly-Mae told her 3.6 million followers: “Hey guys, so I’m currently sat literally hiding in the corner of the gym. Tommy’s over there training very hard.

“I don’t know what’s happened to me but I literally used to be obsessed with the gym, I used to train twice a day. I used to work in a gym, I used to want to be a personal trainer – that was what I wanted to do.”

The blonde continued: “And now when I step foot in a gym and I’m not with my PT, I physically, more mentally, can’t bring myself to do exercise and I don’t know why.

“I literally just got on the stepper then and I just did like literally 30 seconds, and I just can’t do it. I don’t know why – I don’t know what’s happened to me considering I used to be obsessed with going to the gym.

“And now it’s like, I don’t even want to look at a gym. So annoying but I’m gonna try.”

Following their gym stint, Molly-Mae and Tommy decided to have a dip in the jacuzzi before snuggling up at home in bed to watch a series on Netlfix.

Molly-Mae’s comments come after she was cruelly fat-shamed by trolls last year when she was pictured wearing a bikini during a photoshoot.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, the influencer admitted the nasty comments reduced her to tears and made her question if she wants to continue working via social media.

Revealing the physical side to it, she explained: “I’ve never had eczema before, but it’s here on my arms. It must be because of the stress, because the last few weeks have been especially bad, to the point where I haven’t wanted to go online.

“Social media is my passion, it’s what I love, but it got to a point where I was just like: ‘I don’t want to do this any more,” she continued.

“Until you’ve done the show and come out and experienced the constant trolling, the death threats and all those messages, you’ll never understand it.”

Most of Molly-Mae’s trolling has been focused on her looks, and most recently she was attacked for the results of dermal fillers in her jawline, a procedure she confirmed to having done.

However, the abuse became so intense that she made the decision to have them dissolved.

“They say my head’s shaped like a square, my face looks like a 50p, I look like SpongeBob. And there’s the catfish thing, where people say that my Instagram is completely different to how I actually look.

“And on the fillers… I don’t endorse them, it’s a personal thing, but the hate that I got was horrible.

“Just constant comments on every picture. But I can’t just turn my phone off, I have to see every comment,” she added.
