Love Island's Joe Garratt breaks silence to thank bodyguard who got him home safely

Dumped Love Island star Joe Garratt has broken his social media silence after landing back home.

The sandwich seller, 22, jetted out of Majorca yesterday and has now been reunited with his family and friends.

This evening he took to Instagram to share a picture of himself catching up with his brother Josh and best mate Levi.

He also shared a picture with the bodygaurd who escorted him home from Majorca, thanking the security officer for taking such good care of him.

Joe was torn away from his partner Lucie Donlan and dumped from the show this week.

The dumping came after the Londoner was bombarded with viciously trolled and even accused of being “abusive” over his treatment of the surfer babe.

However, Joe has been trying not to let all the fuss get him down and was in a chipper mood as he headed home.

One of the fans who spotted him at Palma airport in Majorca got chatting to the telly star, who seemed happy and relaxed and was in a “good mood” as he waited to board his flight.

She told Mirror Online: “He seemed like a really nice guy!”

She added that he came across as “lovely and genuine”.

Since his shock departure, Joe’s family have spoken out to claim he was “unfairly edited.”

In a message posted on his behalf, they explained: “Speaking on behalf of Joe’s best friends, we acknowledge Joe will come out to some warranted criticism.

“However, we deem the majority of it to be unfair and non representative of Joe’s true character.

“The producers have the ability to show someone in a particular light, choosing just 45 mins of footage from 24 hours to tell a certain narrative.”
