Let’s be honest, to say Jack Fowler sent fans into total meltdown after unveiling his girlfriend on Instagram is a total understatement.
The Love Island star found himself trending on Twitter just moments after posting a snap of himself and Joanne Morales, looking all kinds of loved-up.
And, despite being ‘aware’ of the reaction, the 24-year-old admitted he didn’t quite see the hysteria coming.
Side note: How could you not?
Opening up about the response, he told Metro.co.uk: ‘I was very aware of that, my phone went nuts.
‘I thought, let me just let it be known, let me just put it out on a random Tuesday… No real hype, let me just float that one out there.
‘I didn’t expect it to get such a reaction.
‘There were girls in my DMs, putting Justin Bieber’s lyrics there – the song That Should Be Me. Just girls crying in my DMs.’
‘I really ruined 2020 for a lot of people, but I didn’t mean to!,’ he joked. ‘Everyone has been saying, lockdown has been hard but now Jack’s not single, it’s even harder. But that’s life!’
Jack and NuNude CEO Joanne met through a mutual friend at Wireless festival last year, and started messaging before going on a few dates.
The pair have clearly been inseparable ever since, and are isolating together during lockdown.
Things took a turn at the beginning of the month when the ITV2 star made their relationship public knowledge, sharing their first photo on social media.
And the ITV2 star praised the businesswoman – who counts Kylie Jenner among her customers – for coping with the attention so well.
‘She deals with it really well. She’s cool with it,’ he said. ‘She’s got her own business going on so she’s in her own field.
‘She is so successful in her own right. She’s the founder of NuNude, a worldwide-known brand that is all about everyone being accepted in the world.
‘She’s gone viral. She’s had Kylie Jenner wear her clothing, she’s been in Forbes magazine. She works really hard herself.’
And it’s clear to see Jack is absolutely smitten with Joanne.
Raving about her, he added: ‘Joanne is very independent, she’s in the press for her own thing. She does not want press. She understands it’ll happen but she doesn’t go out of her way to try and get press off the back of me.
‘She genuinely did not watch Love Island. She knows of Love Island, and she knew who I was because of social media, but she had no idea why I was called OluwaJack or Black Jack…
‘She doesn’t care too much about it… So that’s quite nice from my perspective.’
We absolutely love to see it.
