It might be all over for Harley Brash and Chris Taylor on Love Island after Chris made a bit of a gaffe during that day’s challenge.

In the game Side Bar of Shame, the islanders were read headlines with the names of islanders blanked out, and they had to throw a drink in the face of the people they thought the headline applied to.

On Chris’ turn, he was given the headline: ‘Love Island fans convinced [blank] and [blank] are meant to be together’.

Chris threw a drink on himself before walking over and chucking another one over India – despite the fact that it literally could have been any of the other couples who have been in the villa for weeks.

He explained in the Beach Hut: ‘I had a feeling it was me but I had no idea who the girl might be. Obviously I started out liking India so I thought viewers might have picked up on that.’

‘I just think it’s a bit muggy,’ Harley said in the Beach Hut. ‘You can’t be doing that to someone you actually like saying that you are meant to be together.

‘I think it’s an absolutely ridiculous thing to do especially when I’m stood behind the bar.’

Pulling Chris aside for a chat about what the hell happened, Chris said: ‘There’s been times when me and India have been chatting and we’ve said the same thing at the same time. Like proper random. We get on ridiculously well because we’re similar.

‘Since I’ve been getting to know you I haven’t even given India a second thought.’

Harley told him she ‘totally disagrees’ with his explanation before telling it like it is.

Harley said: ‘I just think it’s unnecessary. i think it’s ridiculous behaviour. You’re saying you and someone else were meant to be together. The thing you did today was bang out of order. It made me feel about that big. You mugged me off in front of all of my friends. You just weren’t thinking.’

‘I’m not gonna get mugged off. Life’s too short. I’m not gonna do it. My happiness comes before anyone as selfish as that sounds.’

She then walked away from him to the surprise of the other islanders. Is it over before it’s even begun?

Love Island airs daily from 9pm on ITV2.
