You weren’t the only one gunning for OGs Lucie Donlan and Joe Garratt during the first recoupling on Love Island 2019.

Because the whole nation mouthed a collected ‘WTF?’ when new islander Tommy Fury swiped the surfer from her happy couple on Tuesday night.

Viewers were fuming at the boxer for breaking up Joe and Lucie after seeing them grow closer over the first day in the villa.

Many were simply in disbelief about Tommy’s decision, considering his reassurance that he was a ‘nice guy’ who ‘didn’t want to get in the way’.

Others, were wide awake wondering what was going to happen between Lucie and Tommy during their first date on Wednesday’s episode.

Then there were those feeling sorry for Joe who was relegated to the subs bench a mere few hours after telling the nation that he’d found ‘the love of his life’.

Tommy, a late arrival on Monday night’s opening episode, said he picked Lucie because he had planned to ‘go with his gut’ in the first recoupling.

He told Lucie she was ‘absolutely gorgeous’ and was excited to ‘learn more and more about her’.

But then there was Amber, whose priceless reaction to Tommy’s decision hadn’t escaped the viewers at home.

Many could see that Amber was clearly shocked she wasn’t swiped from her own coupling with Sherif – especially since she said she’d ‘never’ been rejected before.

Elsewhere in the episode, ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard stole Amy Hart from Anton Danyluk.

So as it stands, the couples are: Tommy and Lucie, Curtis and Amy, Anna Vakili and Sherif Lanre, Yewande Biala and Michael Griffiths, Amber Gill and Callum Macleod.

Both Joe and Anton are now without partners.

Love Island airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV2.
