Love Island star accuses trophy-hunter Ollie Williams of faking reason for quitting show


Love Island trophy-hunter Ollie Williams has been accused of faking his reason for quitting the show.

Former star Olivia Attwood , 26, posted a scathing tweet last night rubbishing his excuse for leaving.

Ollie’s exit came as ITV faced mounting pressure from fans to axe him after he was pictured posing with dead animals shot in South Africa

However, the posh landowner, 23, insisted he was actually leaving because he realised he was actually still in love with his ex-girlfriend.

In a post on Twitter , Olivia raged: “If you believe that is the real reason he left the villa then you probably believe in Father Christmas too.”

In his first statement since quitting, Ollie said: “I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else…

“I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.

“At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it’s about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn’t be fair on them.”

A Love Island spokesperson confirmed it was Ollie’s decision to leave.

Despite series six being only two episodes in, there had been concerns that Ollie would become the most complained about contestant ever.

Just two episodes into the first ever winter edition and close to 500 viewers took to Ofcom to complain to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom about the wealthy landowner’s game hunting past.

The snaps also prompted fans to launched a petition on Change.org demanding ITV remove Ollie. It topped more than 40,000, with organisers declaring “victory” after he left the show.
