Love Island Laura barred from The Ivy after covid temperature reading was high

Love Island star Laura Anderson has revealed she and her boyfriend were turned away from The Ivy after giving temperature readings that were too high.

The Stirling-born reality TV runner-up said she and personal trainer Tom Brazier had to leave the exclusive London spot after it installed thermal screeners to detect possible Covid-19 infection.

Laura, 31, failed to get in on Friday and was unhappy at her knockback, branding the restaurant’s decision to test the outside temperature as “dumb”.

She has had a £250 private Covid test, which she says was negative.

Laura told fans on Instagram: “Me and Tom just tried to get in the Ivy and they test your temperature and, obviously, it’s 34C outside so we were sweating when we tried to get there.

“We were too high and we had to leave. We just stood for a bit trying to cool ourselves down and it was just stressing me out. So yeah, good luck everyone trying to go for lunch.”

She added: “For those worried I had a temperature, it was just because the Ivy were testing the outside temperature which was dumb and it was obviously roasting so my temperature was high, only on the outside not on the inside.”

She added: “The Covid test wasn’t that bad. Tom was a baby. He was crying and sneezing.”

The London Ivy have been approached for comment.
