Love Island faces Ofcom probe over treatment of Shaughna amid Callum heartbreak

Love Island could face an Ofcom investigation as angry viewers have lodged complaints about the Casa Amor stint on the show.

In keeping with the programme’s regular format, the boys are currently holed away in a neighbouring villa with six new bombshells while the girls remain in the main villa with six burly hunks.

However, Shaughna’s heartbreak over beau Callum hasn’t gone unnoticed by viewers.

The 25-year-old has broken down in tears on numerous occasions, and she even admitted she thinks the scaffolder will cheat – and her gut instincts are right as he’s sparked an interest in newbie Molly Smith.

Not happy with Callum’s wandering eye and flirty actions, coupled with Shaughna’s teary confessions about her beau, fans of the show have now complained to the broadcasting regulator.

Shaughna has pined for Callum since he packed his bags for Casa Amor

While many have gone down the formal route, others took to social media to share their feelings about the love triangle and begged show execs to intervene.

Shaughna and Callum, who coupled up on day one, have had their romance tested since Callum packed his suitcase for his Casa Amor getaway.

Their romance was first thrown into disarray when Callum swiftly left the main villa and failed to leave Shaughna a goodbye present – unlike Luke T and Finn.

The pair’s romance could be hitting the skids as Callum has admitted he’s attracted to Molly

His lack of a departing gift didn’t go unnoticed by the London native who exclaimed she always “goes for the idiots”.

Expressing her disappointment, she said: “Every single bed had stuff on it apart from mine. I go for the idiots all the time. I just feel like it’s happening again. It’s just annoying.”

While Shaughna has remained faithful to the Mancunian, Callum, however, hasn’t stayed on the garden path.

Unbeknown to Shaughna, Callum has strayed from the garden path

He fast forgot about the democratic service office when Molly waltzed through the door, and admitted he wanted to “rip her clothes off”.

Crikey.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
