Curtis Pritchard is officially appearing on season five of Love Island.

After weeks of speculating, the Love Island bosses have finally put us out of our collective misery and revealed who is going to be entering the Love Island villa this year.

One of the most hotly-speculated-upon contestants to have been confirmed is Curtis Pritchard, who is no stranger to the spotlight.

For those not in the know, here’s the lowdown on Curtis, his career, and his famous brother before Love Island 2019 starts.

Curtis Pritcard’s dancing career

Curtis, 23, is a ballroom and Latin dancer who hails from Shropshire, and has represented the UK in both European and World dance championships.

Love Island won’t be his first foray into television, with him having appeared on two seasons of Dancing With The Stars.

He finished 10th and 11th respectively in seasons one and two, after having been partnered first with model Thalia Heffernan and then businesswoman Norah Casey.

For two years, Curtis was in a relationship with his Dancing With The Stars co-star Emily Barker, but as of this year, they are no longer together – hence Curtis’ appearance in Love Island.

Curtis Pritchard’s famous brother

The Pritchard name is very well known in the dancing world, with Curtis’ older brother AJ being in the public eye as one of the professional dancers for Strictly Come Dancing.

Six months before the announcement that Curtis is going to be on Love Island was made, both he and his brother AJ were set upon while they were out partying in Cheshire by an eight-strong group of thugs who reportedly kicked and punched the two.

Curtis’ injuries were severe enough that he had to have an emergency operation to ‘correct the damages he sustained to his knee’, and he was forced to drop out of Dancing With The Stars.

Luckily these injuries don’t seem to have any impact on Curtis’ upcoming appearance on Love Island, as a source close to the show has told The Sun in the past: ‘His body is ideal for being in swimwear all day, plus he’s a lovely bloke with a great sense of humour so is sure to be a hit with the ladies.

‘They are also hoping that he will bring some sexy salsa moves to the villa.’

They’re likely not the only ones!

Love Island 2019 begins on Monday 3 June at 9pm on ITV2.
