Anna Vakili’s sister Mandi has claimed Love Island bosses ‘scouted’ her sister by sliding into her DMs and asking her to join the show, without the Iranian beauty having to apply.

According to Mandi, there was a time when they were both set to join the villa. Two Kim Kardashian look-alikes. Can you imagine?

The 28-year-old pharmacists’ sister appeared on Lorraine, where she told the host: ‘She was approached on Instagram, so she was sort of scouted. She never applied.

‘It’s not how it works usually, usually everyone applies.’

This is true. Potential Love Islanders are taken through an application and audition process in which they fill out a form and then audition for the reality TV show.

‘But Anna didn’t apply,’ her sister revealed. ‘They messaged her and contacted her and we were like “Oh my god, is this really happening?”’

Being an awesome sister, Anna tried to tempt the show’s bosses to put her sister into the villa as well – and Mandi admits she would love to appear on the programme.

She said: ‘Because me and Anna are so close she kept pushing the producers to meet me.

‘It was originally meant to just be Anna, but there was a brief period of time where we were both meant to be going on there.’

And she’s still holding out for that Love Island opportunity. ‘I feel me and Anna can be more ourselves when we’re together because we’re so close. We’re like two halves.

‘If I was there she would be more herself, and the same way she would be more herself if she was with me right now.

‘It would be fun but it would take away the drama that Love Island wants. They want head turning, ship jumping sort of thing. But that wouldn’t happen because me and Anna are so close.’

According to Dani Dyer, the audition process is pretty full on.

Dani recently revealed that all hopefuls can expect to go through ‘quite a few’ rounds of auditions.

‘You have to go in a couple of times,’ she explained, ‘they contact you, you have to do a full-on interview.’

You can expect questions about your past relationships, your type, your personality, what annoys you and what makes you happy.

‘They basically strip you down,’ Dani said. And there’s literal stripping involved too, as you actually need to do a portion of the interview in your swimwear.

‘The second part of it you’re in a bikini,’ Dani explained, but that’s apparently just ‘for pictures and stuff, not like sitting there like.’

Anna has cracked on with Jordan following an awkward conversation with Ovie, who is a whole summer mood with the way he’s been handling it.

Love Island returns tonight to ITV2 at 9pm.
