Love Island Australia's Grant Crapp is ecstatic as rain falls on NSW's south coast

Love Island Australia’s Grant Crapp shared his joy as rain fell on the NSW south coast this weekend, just days after his Malua Bay home was destroyed by bushfires.

The 24-year-old reality star shared a video to Instagram of himself standing in a field watching the downpour in amazement.

‘Unbelievable! Please keep raining, Lord, come down on all of us, all the way down the south coast,’ he yelled while lifting his head towards the sky.

‘Pump it out, you bloody beauty! Thank God. Keep raining for days’, he added.

Many of Grant’s friends left congratulatory comments beneath the video, including beauty blogger Chloe Morello, who wrote: ‘Hopefully comes down in buckets!’

‘Perfect,’ added former Married At First Sight star Telv Williams.

Grant’s post comes after he spoke about the devastating scenes he had witnessed due to the devastating bushfires.

Last Thursday, the electrician – who won Love Island with Tayla Damir in 2018 – told The Daily Telegraph he had witnessed locals lying on the road in tears after having lost their homes and possessions.

‘The best way to describe it is it’s like an atomic bomb has dropped and just wiped out everything, just so depressing and devastating you know?’ he said.

Begging for more: 'Unbelievable! Please keep raining Lord, come down on all of us, all the way down the south coast,' he exclaimed while triumphantly tilting his head upwards

‘It was a bad day on New Year’s, I came home and saw people lying on the road crying because their properties had collapsed, animals were burned and running around in shock, it’s intense.’

Grant added that his own home had ‘completely gone… [its] wiped out’.

He expects the damage to his property will total around $300,000.

Grant also lost his stables and thousands of dollars’ worth of stock from his clothing brand, Royal Apparel.

Earlier on Thursday, Grant had shared a video to Instagram showing the damage to the property he shared with his girlfriend, Lucy Cartwright.

‘Reality of the bushfires. Lost everything. Grateful that the people that matter are still with me,’ said a tearful Grant, who had only purchased the home in May.

Grant also uploaded several bleak photos from inside the property, showing most of his possessions reduced to ash.

Trying to make light of the awful situation, he joked that the contents of his charred fridge had survived the blaze as he retrieved several bottles of beer.

‘May as well have a few beers, are they cold?’ he said.

Grant also shared a picture of Lucy tending to a horse with facial burns. He posted another picture of an alpaca with half of its fur blackened by the fires.

Before being evacuated on New Year’s Eve, Grant and Lucy had frantically gathered their belongings after loading their goats and chickens onto a trailer.

His rural property backs onto 100 acres of bushland. It is comprised of two dwellings as well as sheds and paddocks for the couple’s animals.

The main house, where Grant and Lucy lived, has two bedrooms and two bathrooms; a separate two-bedroom cabin is often rented out to holidaymakers.

On New Year’s Eve, Grant and Lucy told their Instagram followers they had been evacuated as the bushfires grew closer.

‘It’s actually surreal to feel warm wind. And there’s a fire that’s three kilometres away, it’s f**king huge, so we’ve just had to evacuate,’ Grant said at the time.

‘You get all these weird messages and weird calls from the police and the RFS, and it sounds like the scariest thing I’ve ever witnessed.’
