‘I ignored the red flags’: Love Island’s Vanessa Sierra had a ‘bad feeling’ about ex-boyfriend Rhyce Power before they broke up after an incident in Thailand
Love Island Australia contestant Vanessa Sierra has reflected on her former relationship with Married At First Sight’s ‘hot brother’ Rhyce Power.
Speaking to TV Week on Monday about their split in March, the 25-year-old said: ‘I ignored the red flags. Now, I’d say trust your gut if you’ve got a bad feeling.’
Vanessa said she is now excited about ‘moving forward’ with her life.

Vanessa added that she ‘learnt she was a lot stronger than she expected’ after their public break up, and has had a ‘bad run’ with her love life.
Following her split from Rhyce in March, Vanessa briefly dated Dan Webb, the ex-boyfriend of Jessika Power, who is Rhyce’s sister.
However, this quickly ended, with Vanessa and Married At First Sight star Dan only enjoying a handful of outings together.

Vanessa was in a relationship with Rhyce for several months at the start of the year.
Vanessa alleged following her break-up with Rhyce that he assaulted her during a fitness holiday in Thailand in March. She later filed an intervention order in Australia.
Under the Victorian intervention order, which is similar to an apprehended violence order (AVO), the heavily-tattooed tradesman is banned from contacting Vanessa.

In a lengthy statement shared to Instagram in April upon his return to Sydney, Rhyce said there was more to the story and appeared to deny Vanessa’s claims.
‘There’s always two sides to every story, and everyone needs to believe that,’ he said.
