Love Island Australia kicks off series 2 with first same-sex coupling

Love Island Aus returned last night, filmed in the tropical location of Fiji.

The luxurious villa is set on the beach, meaning contestants looking for love can walk out of the water and into their stunning new home.

However, there won’t be any whopping one-liners from Iain Stirling, as Irish presenter Eoghan McDermott has taken his spot on the show.

But, who are the hopefuls looking for love this winter on a tropical island? In a first for Love Island, season two of the Aussie stint saw the first same-sex coupling.

Brunette beauty, Phoebe Thompson, 28, told host Sophie Monk and fellow Islanders that Cassie, 26, was “the only person” she’s had a sexual attraction to since she entered the villa on day four.

Speaking to fellow hopefuls during the recoupling, the credit analyst said: “I want to couple up with this person because as soon as I walked into the villa I noticed them straight away.

“They’ve pretty much been the only person in the villa that I’ve had a sexual attraction to.”

The beauty continued: “It took me by surprise, but every time I talk to this person I just feel like we have so much in common and nothing is ever awkward.”

London-born, Cassie, an executive producer once appeared as a regular extra on the hit E4 show, Made in Chelsea.

The blonde beauty emigrated from the rainy streets of London to the glistening shores of Sydney six years ago and works as an executive producer.

Gerard Majda, 23, originates from Perth, Western Aus and works as a personal trainer for people with disabilities and coaches a Catholic college football team.

He describes himself as “an emotional guy looking to connect with people on a meaningful level.”

Gerad also runs a naked cooking segment on his Instagram page and is not afraid to show off his chiselled abs and toned bum to his followers.

Tattooed plasterer, Adam Farrugia, 27, entered the villa – hailing from Queensland’s Gold Coast. However, despite his chiselled looks, the Love Island hopeful as previously revealed he was bullied at school, which shaped who he is today.

The cast also includes controversial 19-year-old Cartier Surjan from Sydney.

Lifeguard Cartier has publicly spoken about her religious beliefs, saying: “With same-sex marriage, I’m a Christian, I don’t believe in it.”

Model Cynthia Taylu, 23, entered the villa on day one before coupling up with Sam Withers – who was dumped from the island just six days later.

As the episode drew to a close, the Islanders received a text informing them of a new Irish arrival.

This saw 24-year-old Eoghan Murphy hailing from Laois. The estate agent now resides in Australia’s Gold Coast and made jaws drop as he entered the villa.

During a game of truth or dare, brunette beauty Vanessa was dared to kiss new Irish hunk Eoghan, who in turn was dared to strip, revealing his chiselled six-pack and bulging penis.
