Love Island 2019 winners: Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea crowned champions of final

Love Island 2019 ended tonight as Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea were crowned the winners of the series.

After eight long weeks, they saw off 38 other contestants and won over the hearts of the nations to scoop the £50,000 prize money.

As for Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, they were the bookmakers original favourites but came second place in the show.

Ovie Soko and India Reynolds were given third place in the competition while Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard came fourth.

Fans of the reality dating show were incredibly happy that Amber and Greg won the show.

Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “Me when Amber and Greg won. YES TO HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.”

TWITTER IM SO PROUD AMBER AND GREG ASJSJSKSLSLSK,” a second chimed.

Someone else wrote: “Omg absolutely shocked that Amber and Greg are the winners of #loveIslandfinal but I’m so happy for them! They deserve it!.”

“Actually so buzzing for Amber and Greg! She deserves it so much Thank god I can stop crying now,” a fan exclaimed.

While the pair won the show together, there was a twist involving the prize money.

Amber and Greg got to choose from two gold envelopes, one contained £0 and the other £50,000.

Those watching at home saw Amber open her envelope first – the one with no money it.

It was then over to Greg who revealed he had the £50,000 in his hands.

Host Caroline Flack asked the Irish rugby player: “Greg, what are you going to do?”

He had the option of keeping it all to himself or sharing it with Amber, proving to viewers whether he was on the show for love or money.

“Of course I’m going to share it!” he exclaimed, much to the delight of Amber.

Fans of the show will remember the rough ride Amber has had.

As the only original cast member to have reached the final, she has had a turbulent time.

But it seems she found what she was looking for when Greg arrived.

Love Island 2019 is available to catch up on the ITV hub.
