Love Island 2019: Caroline Flack reveals future of spin-off show ahead of series launch

Caroline, 39, will be returning to the shores of Mallorca next month to get the fifth series of Love Island underway.

Earlier this week, it was revealed the hit ITV series will return on Monday 3 June as a new group of young singletons try to take the crown from last year’s winners, Dani Dyer, 23, and Jack Fincham, 27.

After the news of the return, the former Strictly Come Dancing took to Instagram to reveal the spin-off show Aftersun will be back this year.

The show airs Sunday night’s and sees Caroline speak with the eliminated contestants, either coupled or single, and highlights from the week of drama.

Taking to Instagram to tell her 1.9 million followers the news, Caroline posted in a story a picture of herself presenting the spin-off show.

The picture was captioned with: “Not forgetting love island AFTERSUN is BACK…” followed by: “Sunday 9 of June y’all.”

Aftersun was introduced to Love Island viewers ahead of the show’s third series, which was later won by Amber Davies, 22, and Kem Cetinay, 23.

Although the show and Caroline will be returning, there had been some doubt on whether the host could present the series this year.

Having hosted the show since it was revived in 2015, Caroline has become a pivotal asset to the series along with voice over presenter, Iain Stirling, 31.

However, in April, Caroline took to Instagram to tell her followers she had sustained a pelvic injury, putting her position in jeopardy.

Caroline posted: “I woke up this morning with an incredibly bad back. I went to an osteopath really early and they told me that I have a wonky pelvis, which was quite a revelation for a Tuesday!”

The post detailed how she was on the mend and with her appearing in promo videos for the series and revealing the news about Aftersun, her’s no doubt Caroline will be back.

With the return less than two weeks away, the rumour mill is in overdrive about which singletons could be entering the villa this year.

Although there will be the initial ten contestants who arrive on the first day, twists and turns to proceedings will see some leave and other’s come to stir up some trouble.

One of the contestants rumoured to be entering the Spanish villa next month includes the brother of Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard, 24.

Appearing as a professional on Dancing With The Stars Australia, Curtis Pritchard, 23, has gained fame in his own right.

The dancer seems to have caught the attention of producers, with a source telling The Sun: “His body is ideal for being in swimwear all day, plus he’s a lovely bloke with a great sense of humour so is sure to be a hit with the ladies.

“They are also hoping that he will bring some sexy salsa moves to the villa,” the source continued.

Fans will have to wait and see if Curtis makes an entrance, however, two former Islanders have announced some very special news recently.

Having become one of the most talked about couples in series 3, Jess Shears, 25, and Dom Leaver, 27, have announced they are expecting their first child together.

Love Island returns Monday 3 June at 9pm on ITV2.
