Love Island 2019: Amber crushed as Michael moves on after slamming 'childish' behaviour?

Just a few days ago, Love Island viewers voted the pair as one of their top couples in the villa, but it looks like cracks are beginning to show.

With the couples split and the arrival of the new guys and girls, all the relationships could be tested.

But with Michael and Amber seeming like such a strong twosome, developments in tonight’s episode may shock some as Michael starts expressing his doubts.

Viewers of the ITV2 programme will see new girl Joanna Chimonides take Michael aside to ask about his relationship with Amber.

She says: “I just wanted to pull you aside because you are my type and obviously I wanted to get to know where you’re at. You’re coupled up with Amber. How are things going?”

While Michael states that things are going well, he does share that he sometimes gets “frustrated” with her actions.

“Things are going well,” he replies. “I wouldn’t really say we’ve had our ups and downs. We’ve had a little blip.

“It’s certain things that have gone on that I think is quite childish. Are they things that I would probably put up with outside? Probably not as much as I am in here.

“She’s quite straight with everything but at the same time she’s not straight with me sometimes and that can be quite frustrating.”

Joanna goes on to ask Michael if he’d pursue things with someone else, to which he answers: “If somebody comes in that’s genuinely better suited to me than Amber is, then it’s one of those things.”

It looks as though Michael might be having second thoughts about Amber.

“Joanna’s obviously a very attractive girl. It wouldn’t hurt to get to know who Joanna is, but at the same time it doesn’t mean that my head’s turned.

“It just means that I’m getting to know Joanna to see if by all means she’s more me than Amber is.”

He even considers the possibility of sharing a bed with newcomer Joanna as he muses: “Is it worth the potential headache of sharing a bed with Joanna if there’s nothing actually there, or if I don’t share a bed with Joanna and there is something there than am I just shooting myself in the foot?”

Over at Casa Amor, Amber voices her fears that Michael might have been enticed by one of the new girls, despite reassurances from the original girls.

“Michael’s probably cracking on with some new girl right now. Fantastic. I don’t know why you’re so confident in him,” she declares.

Michael goes on to discuss his position with close pal Danny Williams.

He says: “I take a lot more on the chin and just squash things for the sake of not having an issue. It does go back to the age thing. It’s making me realise things I’ve been brushing off.”

It’s clear the situation is playing on his mind as Michael later opens up in the Beach Hut.

He remarks: “The new girls coming in has obviously come at a great time. It’s helped me realise situations that I’ve overlooked with Amber, and it’s made me realise that I did go into a shell over the past week and I wasn’t really acting myself.

“Just acting a bit out of character. This has come at a good time to help me clear things up in my head.”

Could it really be all over for the fan-favourite couple?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
