The child star who stole the whole show on Love Actually 16 years ago, is reportedly coming for the X Factor crown.

California-based singer and actress Olivia Olson, now 27, is apparently keen to return to the UK for the Celebrity X Factor because Love Actually fans will ‘instantly recognise her’.

According to The Sun, Olivia, who was 11 when she played singing school girl Joanna Anderson, wants a shot at winning the serious recording contract Simon Cowell is putting up for grabs.

Sources told the newspaper: ‘Bosses wanted to vary the line-up with a mixture of celebrities and thought Olivia would be a great shout.

‘They have been in talks with her and it’s looking likely she will sign up for the show.

‘She has a fantastic voice and as soon as the clip from Love Actually is shown, people will instantly recognise her.’

A representative for Olivia Olson has been contacted by Metro.co.uk for comment.

In 2003, Olivia blew everyone away with her flawless rendition of All I Want For Christmas Is You in the star-studded rom-com.

She was an instant hit with fans when she played the pre-teen love interest of smitten schoolmate Sam but since then, British fans have seen very little of her.

The star made a brief return to our screens in 2017 short film return, Red Nose Day Actually, in which it was revealed that Joanna was still with Sam

While over in the States, Olivia has been using her beautiful voice to carve out a career as voiceover artist.

Since 2008, she has been the voice of the recurring cartoon character Vanessa Doofenshmirtz on Disney’s animated series Phineas and Ferb.

And in 2010, she got the role of Marceline the Vampire Queen on Cartoon Network series Adventure Time as well as the newest Powerpuff Girl, Bliss, on the same channel.

She’s still kept up singing efforts over on her YouTube channel.

Her last album, Nowhere Land, was released in June 2018, through RoseGold Records.

Celebrity X Factor is one of two special shows coming to screens from the talent show franchise later this year.

Already tipped to appear are Love Island 2018 stars Wes Nelson, Eyal Booker, Zara McDermott and Samira Mighty as a supergroup, as well as The Chase’s Jenny Ryan, EastEnders’ Jacqueline Jossa, David Walliams and Gemma Collins.
