Louise Redknapp reveals HUGE A-list team-up on new song: ‘They were top of my wish-list’

The former Eternal star, 44, is building up to the release of her new album Heavy Love in October – her first in 18 years.

After the positive reception she received for her two latest singles, Stretch and Small Talk, she’s now back with another – this time with some A-list pals in tow.

Clean Bandit have produced Lead Me On – and the track premiered on Ken Bruce’s Radio 2 show this morning.

The group are bona fide hit machines: since shooting to fame with Jess Glynne on Rather Be in 2014, they have netted a further three number one singles and four Top 10 hits.

Their most popular releases include Rockabye with Anne-Marie and Sean Paul, Symphony with Zara Larsson and Solo with Demi Lovato.

Louise said: “Clean Bandit were at the top of my wish list to work with on this album and I am so excited about the outcome and sharing this track.

“The lyrical concept of the song is something I am sure everyone has related to at some point in time.”

Indeed, the song talks about hitting a dead-end with a potential love interest.

She sings in the chorus: “I want to know what makes you feel like you’re allowed to treat me so unkindly?

“Is it just for show, why are you hiding all of your true feelings? Why’d you lead me on?”

The jaunty production is classic Clean Bandit style, and perfect for the summer months.

Louise releases the album, Heavy Love, on October 18, and has also worked with the likes of RAYE, Eg White, Karen Poole and Sinead Harnett.

When she first went solo after leaving Eternal, she was one of the biggest popstars in the country; scoring 12 Top 20 solo singles.

She has sold over 15 million records worldwide, and over five million in the UK. Her debut album Naked has alone sold one million.

The star is off on tour in 2020; starting in Southampton on March 12 and finishing in London on March 26; calling via Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Newcastle and Cambridge.

Lead Me On by Louise is out now.
