Peppa Pig: My First Album was released in July last year and featured a track called Peppa’s Party Time.

However, The Mirror reports the songwriters behind Naked have launched legal action against Entertainment One claiming the track is an infringement of copyright.

Sources told the publication the dispute has since been settled by the company behind Peppa Pig, with the composers entitled to all future royalties.

They are also entitled to backdated royalties which could earn them up to £1 million.

Veteran music producer Denis Ingoldsby – who launched Louise’s girlband Eternal in the 1990s – is one of the names now officially credited alongside the original composers of the Peppa track.

A press release about the album described Peppa’s Party Time as a “toe-tapping dance number”.

Lyrics, sung by Peppa, include: ““I’m having a party/do you want to come/ there’s going to be lots of dancing and maybe some dancing in muddy puddles too.”

It bears a striking similarity to Louise’s hit track, which featured on her debut solo album of the same name.

The single Naked reached number five in the UK charts and sold over a million copies, while the album reached number seven and has been certified platinum.

Louise went solo in 1995 after quitting Eternal before the girl band had released its second album, having formed three years previously.

She has gone on to sell five million albums in the UK and 15 million worldwide, and earlier this month she released her first album in 20 years, Heavy Love.
