Mr Sharma added: “No, I understand that, and as I said that is something we are working on with the UK statistics authority.
“I can’t give you any more information than that, it is work that is ongoing, but I think the key thing for many of your viewers will be, ‘Am I able to get a test if I need one?’
“And the answer to that is absolutely yes, capacity has been ramped up and in fact out rate of testing is now one of the highest.
“And we have a 280,000 capacity a day in terms of people being able to go out and get a test.”
