Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger ‘will return to X Factor to judge for the third time’.

The pair will reportedly make their way back to the ITV show when it returns for the celebrity version of the singing competition, The X Factor: All Stars.

It has been reported that the two memorable judges will join Simon Cowell on the judging panel.

According to the Sun, Louis and Nicole are in ‘advanced discussions’ to make a surprise comeback.

The pair have both been dropped twice before but have seemingly remained close friends with the music mogul.

Louis last appeared on the show on the 14th series in 2017 but did a disappearing act for last year’s edition. Before that, he did a ten-year stint as an original judge, beginning his time on the show in 2004, and briefly leaving a decade later.

Nicole first joined in 2012 and exited the panel in 2014, but she wasn’t gone for long, returning in 2016 and was dropped once more for the 2018 series.

Metro.co.uk contacted ITV for a comment.

Last week Louis teased that he was in talks with Simon to make a return with former judge Sharon Osbourne.

Westlife’s manager told The Mirror: ‘I’m speaking to Simon. Let’s see.

‘The All-Star concept is great. People will watch it to see Leona Lewis, G4, Sam Bailey.

‘Real singers, real talent. It could be like battle of the divas.’

Speaking of Sharon, he said that it ‘would be great’ if she returned with him.

‘Sharon would be great. She’s burnt a few bridges, but that’s what’s good about her – she has an opinion. She’s never boring or predictable,’ he added.

‘She was only joking. It was all panto talk. They will make up. I’m going to mediate between them. I’ll do anything necessary.’

Last year, Sharon raised eyebrows when she let rip at Simon, saying she’d ‘put a f***ing brick around his neck and throw him over, claiming he fired her for being too old.

News on X Factor All Stars is still scarce but the reunion style series would likely see former contestants go head to head.

We’re very interested to see the old judging gang back together.

X Factor All Stars is expected to air later this year.
