Louis Vuitton (LV) has signed a multiyear deal with Riot Games that will include both physical and digital design work for this year’s League of Legends World Championships. This includes a one-of-a-kind Trophy Travel Case for the “Summoner’s Cup,” with LV having designed similar items for sports events including the FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup, and America’s Cup in sailing. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In addition, LV’s artistic director of women’s collections Nicolas Ghesquière will create digital assets for League of Legends players. These include unique champion skins [outfits for playable characters] and a capsule collection [randomized reward sets].

“We are honored to have Louis Vuitton as an official partner with designs to impact the look, feel, and prestige of our most prominent League of Legends event,” said Naz Aletaha, head of global esports partnerships at Riot Games, in a statement. “This is a historic partnership that speaks to the impact Riot Games and League of Legends has had on the industry over the past nine esports seasons.”

Worlds 2019 will conclude on Nov. 10 with a grand finals event in Paris, where LV’s headquarters are located. The company joins other global sponsors of League of Legends events, including Mastercard, Dell’s Alienware brand, and gaming chair company Secretlab

The competition brings together League of Legends teams from all over the world, including 13 from Asia. Three teams will be coming from both China and South Korea, where European luxury brands are exceptionally popular. “Louis Vuitton has long been associated with the world’s most coveted trophies, and here we are today, alongside the Summoner’s Cup. We are thrilled to be part of such an iconic event,” said Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, in a statement.
