Van Jefferson had a lot to celebrate on Sunday as his wife Samaria went into labor with their second child together, part way through the Super Bowl.

The Los Angeles Rams player took home a coveted ring on Sunday evening, as his team beat the Cincinnati Bengals in a tense game at SoFi Stadium.

The chaos wasn’t over when the game ended, as he rushed straight to the hospital to be by his wife’s side – after she was rushed for treatment during the game, according to ESPN.

Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old later confirmed she had given birth, sharing the first photo of the newborn.

In the adorable snap, he could be seen cuddling his son in what appeared to be a bed, with the caption reading: ‘x2!!!!’.

The high school sweethearts – who are already parents to five-year-old daughter Bella – are yet to share the little one’s name.

Samaria had previously discussed the possibility of going into labor during the highly-anticipated game on February 13, before her due date on February 17.

Speaking in an interview just one day before, she insisted that she was prepared for the little one to make an early arrival into the world.

‘I’m feeling pretty good – I’m definitely feeling 40 weeks [pregnant],’ she told The Athletic on Saturday. ‘I’m definitely feeling the pressure and the pain. Nerves for Van, nerves for our family – but it’s okay.

‘Just like any other game, I’m going to be there this Sunday and I’m going to stay calm … and pray to God my water doesn’t break.

‘I am 100 percent going to be there. I would not miss this moment for anything. I will be 40 weeks pregnant at the Super Bowl, supporting my husband 100 percent.’

It was also a huge night for Van’s teammate Taylor Rapp, who got down on one knee on the pitch after they claimed a victory over the Bengals.

The Rams safety pulled out a ring and popped the question to his partner Dani Johnson after helping his team to victory – as you do.

Dani was shocked by the proposal and tearfully accepted, as watching fans cheered their happy moment.

ESPN shared footage of the proposal on the official Twitter page, and wrote: ‘Two rings in one night. Congrats to @trapp07.’
