A tiny Shetland pony became the unexpected star of Lorraine when the four-legged animal made an impromptu appearance during an interview.
On Tuesday’s episode, TV host Lorraine Kelly chatted to Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess who is the star of Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm.
The observational documentary series following life on the Owens’ farm with her nine children and an array of animals.
Lorraine and Amanda chatted about her large brood and how her offsprings help with the animals.
As the farm owner was discussing the programme, her youngster came into shot, exclaiming: “Hello Lorraine!”
But the youngster wasn’t alone as she decided to bring in her pony for a surprise appearance.
Surprised by the animal’s presence, Lorraine remarked: “Oh! A pony.”
Speaking to Amanda’s daughter, she asked: “How are you doing, love?”
After chatting to the Scottish TV host for a couple of minutes, she was soon on her way with her furry friend.
Laughing off the surprise appearance, Lorraine continued her interview with Amanda and asked her about the criticism she has received for raising her children without wrapping them in cotton wool.
“I think your kids are having an amazing childhood,” she said,”They are having the best time.”
“I hope so,” Amanda replied, “You are going to get criticism if you do nothing. You may as well just get on with it.
“Last night, they were swimming in the river and out on horses – there’s nine of them and I feel like these experiences stand them in good stead.”
Discussing the Channel 5 show, Lorraine added: “They seem completely unfazed by being on TV.”
“By the time we get to the end of the series, around episode 6, it was the start of lockdown so Channel 5 and the film crew trusted me with the cameras because they couldn’t be on the farm filming. It’s our self-filmed episode.”
Rounding off the interview, Lorraine concluded: “It’s been a joy! I love that you have a house pony!”
