Lorraine Kelly begs Piers Morgan to send cutting message to Trump amid riots

Good Morning Britain erupted into chaos this morning as Piers Morgan and Lorraine Kelly discussed the error of Donald Trump’s ways.

The 55-year-old presenter didn’t hold back as he debated how the President of the United States has handled the riots following the death of African-American George Floyd.

George, who is a Black man, was killed by white police officer Derek Chauvin as footage showed him kneeling on George’s neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds.

He has now finally been arrested and charged with third degree murder.

Prior to Derek’s arrest, riots and peaceful protests from New York to Florida erupted and have continued for days.

Lorraine Kelly pleaded with Piers Morgan to talk to Donald Trump

Speaking on how Trump has handled the situation, Piers said: “We’ve got to somehow come together.

“We’ve got to reach a point where we can affect real change.

“It’s got to come from the top.

“Donald Trump has to stop putting fuel on this fire. He has to calm things down.”

Lorraine said Piers should reach out to Donald Trump

Piers continued: “And I don’t know whether he has it in him. That’s the sad thing about this.”

Lorraine then spoke up as she praised Piers’ words and encouraged him to speak to Trump directly.

“See, what you said there was really good,” Lorraine said, after Susanna introduced her to preview her self-titled daytime TV favourite during the GMB segment.

Lorraine continued: “It really was.

“Send that to Donald Trump and tell him to listen to you.”

“I just think everything he has done this year – from the coronavirus pandemic to the riots – has just made things worse, not better,” Piers said.

Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6am
