Loose Women's Andrea McLean considered 'selling house' amid financial worries

Andrea McLean has opened up about how leaving Loose Women left her worrying about money – and she even considered selling her mansion.

The Scots presenter, 51, stepped down from the ITV show last month after 13 years following the shock decision to quit her high-profile TV job in order to focus on her online company.

The journalist has now spoken candidly about the financial worries she had prior to leaving the weekday panel show – which included fearing she would have to put her Surrey home up for sale.

She told OK! magazine : “‘It was such a slow burner. By the time it came around, it felt like absolutely the right thing to do. It was a weird decision – it did feel scary!

“It took months of thinking about it. We were preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. Nick and I sat down and wrote what we needed to prepare for.”

She added: “Worst case – we would have to sell the house. Best, the This Girl Is On Fire membership and website we’ve set up works and we’re successful with that.”

Andrea said goodbye to her role as a Loose Women host at the end of last year, opting to focus on her website This Girl Is On Fire with her partner Nick Feeney.

She said: “I want to be brave, all the incredible feedback I’ve had from my book and the support I was able to give, I want to bring it to life.

“It was a really dig decision to jump to see if I fall or if I fly. And I just knew I would never know if I never tried.

“So I am saying goodbye to Loose Women.”

Back in December, Andrea shocked the nation as she announced live on air that she was quitting Loose Women after 13 years.

The age-defying beauty burst into tears as she revealed the news to her co-stars Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Judi Love.

She said on her final show: “It’s really weird, it’s like coming to your own wedding and funeral at the same time.

“I have no idea what’s going to happen today.”
