Logan Paul has been slammed for disrespecting Mike Tyson after he made a vile threat and mocked the former heavyweight boxing king in the immediate aftermath of his defeat to Jake Paul.

Despite the comprehensive nature of his points loss on Friday night in Texas, Tyson does not believe he has made his last appearance in a boxing ring.

The eight-round fight, which took place at the AT&T Stadium and streamed on Netflix, was scored 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in favour of the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

It was Tyson’s first fight in 19 years but, speaking to Netflix after the bout, the 58-year-old left the window open for future fights.

Asked if it was the last time he would be seen in a ring, Tyson said: ‘I don’t know. It depends on the situation.

‘I don’t think so.’

When asked who a future opponent could be, Tyson pointed out Paul’s brother Logan who was standing in the ring.

Asked for his instant response by Netflix compere Ariel Helwani, the elder Paul brother, who has fought four times in his own fledgling boxing career, savagely remarked: ‘Motherf*****, I’d kill you Mike.’

Tyson shrugged off the comments but Logan Paul received widespread condemnation for the remarks, with former British figher Amir Khan suggesting remarks of that nature threaten to make a mockery of the sport.

He told New Zealand Daily: ‘It annoyed me because you can’t be talking to a champion like that – one of the heavyweight greats.

‘These guys have started to make boxing become a joke and it was a bad day for boxing. People like these YouTubers shouldn’t have the audacity to speak to Mike Tyson like that.’

He added: ‘Mike Tyson didn’t need to take that fight; it was so sad to see he got beat by a YouTuber who now you have to give respect to because he has boxed really well the last few fights and fought some names like Tommy Fury.

‘But we all know Mike Tyson was done and it was really tough to see. At the end of the day, I don’t know why he needs to do it because he’s such a big name.

‘I’m not sure financially whether he needs the money or not. It’s sad to see one of the greatest going in the ring at people who are at the peak of their career and young, strong and hungry.

‘It was like a sparring session, but he was still getting caught and at his age, he doesn’t need to be taking shots like that.’
