Lockerbie hotel becomes chain's first four-star venue in Scotland

The Dryfesdale Hotel in Lockerbie has become the first four-star venue in Scotland under the OYO brand.

It will continue with the same management and OYO aims to increase business through bookings on its website along with 17 other venues under the name in Scotland.

The Dryfesdale has been owned since 2004 by Glen Wright, who will continue to operate his Queens Hotel in Lockerbie independently of OYO. He said: “Dryfesdale Hotel has been running very successfully for the last 15 years, thanks in no small part to our fantastic team, but now with OYO’s support and expertise, we’re looking forward to an even brighter future.”

With 29 rooms and independently owned, Dryfesdale Hotel is typical of the type of hotel OYO works with. The chain launched in 2013 and has over 1.2 million rooms across 35,000 hotels and 125,000 vacation homes in 80 countries. It also includes managed living properties and workspaces.

Jeremy Sanders, head of OYO UK, added “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Glen Wright at The OYO Dryfesdale Hotel which is the first four-star OYO hotel in Scotland.”
