Lizzo looks set to lead 2020 female Grammys nominees with eight nods following online ‘leak’

An alleged ‘leak’ on the Grammys website has music fans claiming they know how many nominations artists will receive during next year’s ceremony.

The nominations were expected to be officially released on Wednesday, but on Tuesday, The Recording Academy’s official website for the awards seemed to update certain artist’s pages with new nominations totals.

For example, Ariana Grande‘s nominations count briefly leaped from six to eleven, leading many fans to speculate she would receive five nominations this year.

Truth Hurts songstress Lizzo was alleged by Twitter user @epipeny to be set to lead the count for the 2020 Grammys with eight nominations.

The Detroit-born rapper released her acclaimed third album Cuz I Love You in April this year.

If the leak is correct, Old Town Road hitmaker Lil Nas X will nab six nominations, tying him for second place along with Billie Eilish, also with six.

Ariana Grande is in fourth place, with her predicted five nods.

Meanwhile, Lizzo won two awards at Sunday Night’s Soul Train Music Awards.

The artist -whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson- picked up gongs for Best Video (for her song Juice) and Best Album/Mixtape for Cuz I Love You.

Meanwhile, pre-sale tickets for Lizzo’s concert at Melbourne, Australia’s Forum on January 8 sold out within minutes on Monday.

And fans of the American singer and rapper have now been warned about scam artists selling fake tickets to her coveted gig on third-party sites such as Viagogo – for over $500 a pop.

Officials have confirmed tickets will not be released to purchasers until 48 hours before the event, in an attempt to combat scalpers charging extortionate prices to see her live.

‘No one actually has a ticket to sell, nothing is dispatched until 48 hours before. Don’t fall for these scammers. Please don’t be fooled. ‘ Lizzo’s promoter warned.

They confirm that only tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be honoured on the night.

Tickets for her Melbourne gig went on sale for just $89.90 – meaning the scammers were attempting to sell for over five times the original cost.
