Lizzo has done her hair toss, she’s checked her nails and she’s just won the Grammy Awards 2020 red carpet.
Wearing a strapless white custom Versace gown – that was two months in the making – with a matching faux fur stole, the Grammy Award nominee was seriously serving old school Hollywood vibes.
The 31-year-old singer also amped up the glamour with Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, and speaking about the look Lizzo’s stylist, Marko Monroe said, “the inspo was ‘iconic status’.” After all she gave us Cher meets Diana Ross vibes all at once.
Marko Monroe also said, “I was thinking about the powerful, iconic women who have come before her, and the imagery they’ve relayed when it comes to glamour — of course, with a little Lizzo twist. If you’re a pop culture history lover, you’ll understand the influences.”
Lizzo not only performed at the awards she was nominated for 8 awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and Album of the Year and took home 3 awards.
Lizzo certainly wasn’t subtle about the number of nominations she received and referenced it in her manicure. Each of her nails was painted with a sparkly number 8, with individual stones suspended from each fingertip. Casual and subtle all at the same time, we stan.
Meanwhile she slipped on some £8 false eye lashes for the occasion. Who doesn’t love a red carpet look on a budget?
In a game changing year for the star, she took to Instagram to reveal her emotions over her Grammy award nominations. Posting on her Instagram stories Lizzo said, “Im on a flight to the states… Im finna drink champagne and cry happy tears of appreciation and love,” before going on to post hilarious shots of her uncontrollably crying on the plane.
Whilst Lizzo has given us such epic hits as Good as Hell and Truth Hurts, the singer has also given us epic beauty looks and red-carpet moments. I mean, can you remember THAT mini handbag at the American Music Awards? So, it’s no surprise she’s literally NAILED it again!
