‘I don’t think that’s your thing’: Lizzo fires off hilarious comeback after Peter Helliar asks her to help him twerk on The Project

Not only is Lizzo one of the biggest stars in music at the moment, she’s also downright funny.

The 31-year-old American singer had a hilarious reaction when Peter Helliar asked her to help him twerk on The Project on Monday.

‘I don’t know, I don’t think you should be out there twerking. I don’t think that’s your thing,’ she told the 44-year-old comedian, prompting him to burst out laughing.

Pete eased into the discussion by complimenting the Juice singer on her ‘amazing’ dance skills, before admitting he was ‘struggling’ to master the art of twerking.

Clearly uncertain about what was coming next, Lizzo asked the show’s panelist if there was a video of him twerking, and was relieved when he said no.

‘Thank God! I have been through enough!’ she told him, causing the rest of the show’s hosts to laugh hysterically.

While she insisted Pete should never attempt twerking, she did have some advice ‘for the people at home who want to twerk’.

She told them the key was not to overthink it, and said ‘it is about freedom’, describing the motion of wiggling butt cheeks as almost accidental.

‘Mine are jiggling now, to be honest,’ Pete told her, prompting the pop princess to quip, ‘I’m sure. Is that what that smell is?!’

Both Lizzo and Pete then proceeded to bounce up and down in their seats, with the Good As Hell singer saying it was ‘all my a**’.

Clearly amused, Pete told the personable star it was only his first day back at work for 2020, and he couldn’t think of a better way to start off the new year.

‘Welcome back, b***h,’ Lizzo told him, eliciting more laughter from the panel.

Bouncy? 'I don't know, I don't think you should be out there twerking. I don't think that's your thing,' she told the Pete, prompting everyone on the show to burst out laughing
