Liverpool face Watford in the Premier League‘s early kick-off knowing a victory will send them 11 points clear at the top of the table.
Jurgen Klopp‘s side remain undefeated in the league this season and secured qualification for the Champions League knockout stages with their midweek win in Salzburg.
Nigel Pearson will be leading Watford for the first time after Quique Sanchez Flores was sacked a fortnight ago.
The Hornets remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the table, six points adrift of safety, but could be boosted by Klopp choosing to rotate his squad ahead of the Club World Cup.

Dejan Lovren is a doubt after limping off against Salzburg, meaning Joe Gomez is in line to start, with both Joel Matip and Fabinho still sidelined. Klopp may also take the opportunity to rest part of his attacking trio, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner will also be pushing for starting roles in midfield.
Watford are hit by a string of injuries, with Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Sebastian Prodl and Jose Holebas all ruled out. However, there’s a hope Daryl Janmaat may be able to return from his knee injury, while Craig Dawson could also be available for selection.
Prediction
Watford should summon a strong surge of resilience with it being Pearson’s first match in charge. However, Liverpool are simply operating at too high a level right now for the Hornets and, once the floodgates have opened, should win by a comfortable margin.
