Liverpool 'to miss out on £36m transfer' of Brazilian wonderkid to rivals Everton

The Toffees have beaten away their Premier League rivals to secure the signature of 17-year-old Brazilian prospect Reinier.

The teenager currently plays with Flamengo in his native Brazil and is reportedly set to join the Everton for a sizeable fee when he turns 18 in January.

Reinier is still waiting for his first senior appearance for Flamengo but his performances caught the eye of potential suitors during the Under 17 South American Championship this year.

He has also attracted interest from top European clubs including AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, but it appears Everton have won the race for his signature.

Reinier is one for the future and has plenty of time to develop

Marco Silva’s side are set to sign Reinier for £36million amid competition from English rivals Manchester City and Liverpool , according to the Daily Mail .

There has been plenty of transfer activity at Goodison Park this summer with arrivals and departures set to continue right up until the transfer window closes on 8th August.

Everton finished eighth in the Premier League with 54 points last season and were pipped to seventh and potential Europa League football by high-achieving Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The club captured Fabian Delph for around £10million from Manchester City while saying goodbye to Phil Jagielka and Idrissa Gueye who have left for Sheffield United and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.

Having lost Gueye to PSG for £29million, there is a void in the Everton midfield that could be filled by Mainz defensive-midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

It could be a hectic end to the summer window for Everton and if these rumours are to be believed, they could have some talented new recruits at their disposal this season.
