Liverpool team news: Salah, Mane and Van Dijk injury updates before Crystal Palace clash

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would have been keeping a close eye on his stars during the international break.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk have helped the Reds to the top of the Premier League.

The Anfield outfit are eight points clear after beating rivals Manchester City and travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

And Express Sport has looked at the doubts that Klopp could have ahead of the weekend.

Sadio Mane

The Senegal star was taken off during his country’s clash with Eswatini, being replaced at half-time.

Some Reds fans were worried that their forward had been replaced due to injury.

However, having already been booked, manager Aliou Cisse decided to replace Mane for fear of a second yellow.

He should be back and rested enough to keep his regular starting spot against the Eagles.

Mohamed Salah

Salah has been struggling with an ankle injury since Liverpool’s win over Leicester.

He withdrew from Egypt’s squad due to the problem though was filmed during his rehabilitation this week.

Klopp had previously talked about the problem, saying: “I think it is more really annoying – for him, not me – the fact that it always has a bit of fluid in, and he has to deal with it, we get it out and it comes back, and stuff like that.”

Salah has played for Liverpool since originally suffering the injury and could play a part against Crystal Palace.

Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool’s monster of a centre back pulled out of the Netherlands squad recently.

But it’s nothing for fans to get concerned about with the Dutchman citing “personal reasons” for his withdrawal.

Van Dijk has managed several niggles this season but did play the full 90 minutes against Northern Ireland before pulling out of the squad.

He’s expected to line-up for Klopp at Selhurst Park.
