Footage has emerged online of Thiago leaving hospital this weekend, following a scan on his potential knee injury. The midfielder complained of discomfort following a nasty challenge from Richarlison in Saturday’s Merseyside derby and was instructed by Liverpool’s medical team to get it checked out as a precaution.
Thiago joined teammate Virgil van Dijk and headed for the hospital after the clash, which finished 2-2 in controversial circumstances.
Liverpool were left furious after Jordan Henderson’s stoppage-time winner was ruled out for offside due to the position of forward Sadio Mane.
The Reds were equally bemused that Jordan Pickford’s challenge on Van Dijk in the opening ten minutes went unpunished following a VAR review.
Liverpool have since confirmed Van Dijk will undergo surgery on his knee after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament.

Klopp admitted after the game that Thiago told him there could be an underlying issue from the tackle.
He said: “When I left the pitch, Thiago told me in the red card situation with Richarlison he thinks he got injured. We will see if it’s true or not, but if he felt like this then we need to have a look.”
Liverpool will hope to have Thiago fit for the midweek Champions League clash with Ajax.
Beyond that they host Sheffield United on Saturday night before a clash with Danish side Midtjylland.
The Premier League champions are refusing to put a timeframe on Van Dijk’s return to action but he is expected to miss the majority of the season.
