Liverpool are prepared to offload highly-rated teenager Rafael Camacho in the summer after he turned down the club’s offer of a new contract, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 19-year-old has been involved in Liverpool’s first-team squad and featured twice this season, making his debut against Wolves in the FA Cup and his Premier League bow against Crystal Palace.

However, Camacho’s contract with Liverpool is set to expire next summer and he has shown no indication that he is willing to extend his stay with the club meaning they are prepared to sell him for around £10m.

Wolves are said to hold an interest in the Portugal youth international and he would fit in well at Molineux considering the club have eight Portuguese players in their first-team, including the likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio.

According to the report, Sporting Lisbon are also monitoring developments with a view to offering Camacho a return to his homeland. Camacho spent five formative years in Sporting’s academy prior to joining Manchester City and then Liverpool.

Camacho appeared to criticise Jurgen Klopp for playing him out-of-position at right-back earlier this season when he said: ‘I do not know whose idea it is, but I will prove that they are mistaken about my football. I’m not a right defender, I’m an attacker who scores goals.’

Liverpool are not expected to make wholesale changes to their squad this summer following an exceptional campaign but a number of squad players could depart including out-of-contract duo Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno.

Simon Mignolet and Xherdan Shaqiri are others who could be sold should Liverpool receive an acceptable offer.
