Champions Liverpool go in search of more Premier League when they visit Brighton on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp has said his Reds side are not focused on breaking records, but they are still on course to beat the Premier League’s best ever points total of 100.
That starts with the visit to the Amex Stadium, where manager Jurgen Klopp is set to make changes for his side’s third match in seven days.
Captain Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino were all rested for Sunday’s laboured win over Villa but made a crucial impact when coming off the bench.
Henderson and Wijnaldum could be restored to Liverpool’s midfield in place of Naby Keita and Fabinho, while Firmino looks set to start instead of Divock Origi.
Left-back Andy Robertson is due a rest but that could depend on whether stand-in James Milner has recovered from a minor problem which kept him out at the weekend.
Sadio Mane could be rested to give game time to the Reds’ January signing Takumi Minamino.
And Joe Gomez looks likely to keep his place alongside Virgil van Dijk at centre-half, with Joel Matip out for the rest of the season with a foot injury and Dejan Lovren facing a late fitness test on a knock.
Brighton boss Graham Potter has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the visit of the Premier League champions.
Long-term absentee Jose Izquierdo remains sidelined, while the club are regularly assessing the fitness of Steven Alzate, who had a minor groin procedure delayed during lockdown.
Alzate was said by Potter to be “struggling” in training earlier this week, so is unlikely to feature against the Reds.
Liverpool predicted lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Milner; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Minamino.
